Meeting Textile Designer Maki Yamamoto – couture-inspired textiles

Last week in New York City, bto dwelling’s owner Colleen Price had the extraordinary opportunity to meet with world renowned textile designer Maki Yamamoto. Her firm’s sophisticated textiles are used in residential and commercial designs. Whether to enhance the vision of an interior designer, or to bring stunning impact to theatrical productions, visual merchandising, or celebrity events, Maki Yamamoto’s textiles deliver innovation, style, and luxury. Many of Maki’s designs have become signature to her clients’ designs in commercial application including Chanel (in collaboration with architect Peter Marino), Guerlain Paris (also with Peter Marino), Elie Tahari, Hyatt and the National Design Awards Gala. I am pleased to share with you a few photographs of her work for these clients, as well as some of the pictures I was able to capture in my short time with her. It was a pleasure to meet Maki and see firsthand the incredible designs that are so unique to her style.
